CARMELA RUSSO Obituary

CARMELA J. RUSSO, age 90 of Longneck Millsboro peacefully passed on March 3, 2018 at home surrounded by family after a brief illness. Carmela was born November 24, 1927 in Brooklyn, N. Y. to the late Joseph & D'Andrea Benedetta Montaperto. Carmela taught for many years in the public schools of New York City in Brooklyn. After teaching Carmela went to work at Astoria Saving Bank for a number of years. After her second retirement Carmela and her husband Jack decided to move and make Delaware their new home. Millie was an avid reader, an animal lover and enjoyed Italian opera. She was a faithful 'Jeopardy' arm chair contestant and found great joy in shopping. Millie and her husband, Jack, hosted spectacular traditional Italian Christmas Eve dinners to family and friends for years when living in Brooklyn.

Burial will be Thursday March 8, 2018 at 12: Noon / St Charles / Resurrection Cemetery / 2015 Wellwood Ave / Farmingdale, N. Y. 11735-1220
